One of our favorite memories from summer is the delicious plums a neighbor shared with us. We noticed the fruit was not getting eaten so we asked the home owner if he would let us have some (our daughter is a plum fanatic). He was delighted to have us come and pick them for him and we thanked him by sharing a pint of jam we made from the lovely, sweet-sour fruit.
Do you have a fruit tree that bears more fruit than you can bear? Or are you a fruit aficionado looking for a new variety to enjoy? Contact Heather to get involved with the neighborhood fruit share. Any extra produce from the program will be donated to Food for Lane County.
