During the past couple of years the Avalon Project has been getting root stock and harvesting local scion wood which is then grafted & planted. They have peaches, apples, pears, cherries, asian pears & plums, as well as almonds. The trees are ready for transplanting and the Project is donating trees to folks for their front yards, neighborhood gardens & school gardens and other uses where there is a chance for public harvest.
Last year in the Edgewood Neighborhood Garden we prepared areas for the orchard trees and it’s soon time to plant.
The trees are located in north Eugene and will need to be dug up and brought back to the Garden for planting mid-February.
