Do you know an energetic young woman who is interested in learning more about the fire service?
The Eugene Fire & EMS and Springfield Fire & Life Safety Departments are hosting the second annual Young Women’s Fire Camp. The camp is being held from July 9, 2012 – July 13, 2012 at the Emergency Services Training Center at 2nd & Chambers in Eugene. This is a free day camp for high school age young women (up to age 19), designed as a “mini” fire academy with a focus on teamwork and building confidence and leadership skills. Activities will include rope rappelling, vehicle extrication, forcible entry, live firefighting and emergency medical response scenarios. Each day, there will be female leaders from the community speaking with the camp participants at lunchtime. Last year’s camp was very successful, and everyone involved had a lot of fun. Please help get the word out to the young women in our community about this unique opportunity.
The application process will open on Monday April 2nd, 2012 and close on Friday May 4, 2012. To apply, print and complete the application online @ Fire Camp Application and submit it to:
