Final Schedule for Sunday’s Neighborhood Festival at Tugman Park: Sunday, September 14, 2014

Dear Neighbors,

Poster1 (1)Our final schedule for this year’s Southeast Neighbors Festival & Picnic at Tugman Park is complete. I am overwhelmed by the generosity and support from our neighborhood businesses, organizations, musicians, and board. This event continues to grow and shape itself as we meet our neighbors and build community. Please join us on Sunday to celebrate and appreciate the peaceful and beautiful neighborhood we share. The kickball tournament will begin at 11am and the rest of the event starts at 1pm. Both will go strong until 5. I look forward to meeting you there. Ride your bike, carpool, or walk if you can to help make close-in parking easier for those who need it. Thank you!

Safety and Environment

Collecting Donations for Abdul Ghaznavi

When Southeast Neighbor Marty Wilde served in Afghanistan, Abdul Ghaznavi served as his interpreter, resulting in serious threats and violence to both himself and his family. Through Marty’s sponsorship, he was recently admitted to the US through an Afghan Allies Protection Act Special Immigrant Visa and will be arriving with his wife and 6 children on Monday night. Their kids are 12-19. They will need everything; furnishings, kitchen items, blankets, pillows, cleaning supplies, and housewares. If you have anything that you would like to donate, please bring it to the event. We will have a loading/unloading zone set up at the south end of the park (look for the cones) and Marty will be accepting your support. Contact him at mlwilde@gmail.com for more details.

Thank you for participating in the community.

Sincerely,
Heather Sielicki
