Egan Warming Centers Need Volunteers

The Egan Warming Centers are seeking new volunteers to help staff emergency shelters during the winter months when the weather is forecast to dip below 30 degrees. Volunteers help save lives each year.

The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection at 3925 Hilyard Street is the Host Site for people experiencing homelessness in our neighborhood. If you have never attended a training or just need to refresh yourself on the basics, please consider attending an upcoming training so you can be of assistance in an emergency. Neighbors within walking distance to the church who can get to the site on foot if conditions are inclement are especially appreciated.

Upcoming Training Opportunities

Saturday, Oct. 24th, 11am – 1pm at First Christian Church
1166 Oak Street
Eugene, Or 97401

Saturday, Oct. 31st, 11am – 1pm at Central Lutheran Church
1857 Potter Street
Eugene, Or 97403

No one can volunteer at a Warming Center without having attended a training at least once. Returning volunteer from past seasons do not have to attend these trainings. Individuals interested in volunteering at a Warming Center must complete a Volunteer Application by completing an Online Form.  Warming Center volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
