Eugene Sunday Streets is looking for fun activities, fitness instructors, jugglers, area organizations, food cart vendors, and hundreds of volunteers to make this year’s events bigger and better than ever.
This summer Eugene Sunday Streets is celebrating its 6th year with two free summer events that focus on building community and promoting an active lifestyle. On Sunday, July 31st, and Sunday, September 25th, selected streets will be car-free, allowing people to walk, roll and dance freely.
The July event will be in the heart of downtown, connecting the park blocks on 8th Ave. to Kesey Square and Monroe Park along Broadway.
The September event will be in the South University neighborhood, connecting Amazon Park to Washburne Park, while incorporating the businesses on 19th St., University Park and the YMCA. We are seeking vendors to participate at both events to help us bring our streets alive!
These fun, free events presented by the City of Eugene feature major activity centers in the city parks along the routes. Activities include live music stages, try-for-free fitness classes, yoga, dancing and much more. With no designated start or finish, the two-way route can be enjoyed by foot, bicycle, roller skates, skateboards, and other forms of transportation at each person’s own pace. The event is designed to get the entire community outside, having fun and enjoying healthy activities in Eugene’s public spaces while showing how easy it is to get around without a car.
