The U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Track and Field are taking place at Historic Hayward Field July 1 – 10 and will have impacts that may affect neighbors before, during and after the event. Street closures and restrictions: Street closures begin on Friday, June 24, for purposes of constructing the fan festival area. All streets will reopen by July 22; many will open soon after the competition ends on July 10. Friday evening, June 24: East 15th Avenue closes between Onyx and Agate Streets. Agate Street closes between East 13th and East 18th Avenues. Intersection is closed at East 15th Avenue and Agate Street. Tuesday evening, June 28: East 18th Avenue restricted between Agate and University Streets. Wednesday evening, June 29: University Street restricted northbound from East 18th Avenue (southbound access only). East 15th Avenue is closed between Onyx and University Streets. Agate Street restricted between Franklin Boulevard and East 13th Avenue.
Shuttle service available: 17,000 attendance at Hayward Field daily; an additional 5,000 attendees in fan festival area. Ticket holders are encouraged to use shuttles from Autzen Stadium and South Eugene High School. Shuttle buses for spectators and athletes will travel through Fairmount, South University, and Amazon neighborhoods.
