Sponsors Mentorship Program Seeks Volunteers: Learn More on July 6

The Sponsors Mentorship Program pairs volunteer mentors with men and women who are making the transition from prison back into Lane County. These men and women often experience isolation that makes an already difficult journey even harder, potentially leading them back to old friends and habits they were attempting to leave behind. The goal of the mentorship program is to break through this isolation with a mentor who is supportive of that individual as they attempt to get their life back on the right track.

Mentors themselves receive extensive support from Sponsors staff, as there is an orientation and training prior to being matched that goes over boundaries and expectations, with follow-up support groups monthly and active case management throughout the duration of the match. Not only is this an intervention that will help that individual mentee, it is also one that helps our neighborhoods and community to be safer in the long term.

Join us at Hideaway Bakery from 9:30-10:30 on July 6th for an informal learning session about this program or contact Andrew Provencher at 541-735-6400 or aprovencher@sponsorsinc.org for more information.
