Eugene businessman Mike Coughlin buys former south Eugene church with plans for housing/retail redevelopment

Local businessman Mike Coughlin said he recently bought a former church in south Eugene and wants to redevelop the site into a $22-million housing and retail project. The South Hills Assembly of God church, just south of Albertsons, has been abandoned for the past couple of years, Coughlin said.

He said he hopes to raze the building and start work on an apartment/retail project similar in appearance to Crescent Village in northeast Eugene.
