Clear the Drains of Leaf Debris

It takes citizen involvement to help keep streets safe and storm drains clean. On heavy rain days, catch basins (the grated storm drains on almost every street corner) get clogged with recently fallen leaves and debris, and water can no longer be drained from the street. Water ponds along streets and can flood intersections and homes.

If you can clear it without placing yourself in danger, use a rake to help you reach and remove the leaves. If you see a catch basin filled with debris below the grate, or if you cannot clear the basin yourself, notify the City that help is needed. Never attempt to remove storm drain grate, only the debris on top of the grate.

Call 541-682-4800 for service or use the online reporting tool at to report the particular location of the clog.
