Seeking Housing Policy Board Members


Applications are being accepted from community members interested in serving on the Lane County Intergovernmental Housing Policy Board.  The Mission of the HPB is to increase the availability of decent, affordable housing, for low and very low income families and individuals in Lane County.

The Intergovernmental Housing Policy Board (HPB) acts as a forum for public input into  community issues related to affordable housing.  It provides an opportunity for dialogue, collaboration and exploration of low-income and affordable housing issues in the city of Eugene and Lane County.  The Housing Policy Board also makes policy recommendations regarding affordable housing to Eugene and Lane County governments.

MEETINGS:  Monthly, or as necessary.  Typically meetings are held on the first Monday of the month from noon to 1:30 pm.

MEMBERSHIP:  Overall board membership consists of one representative from the Lane County Board of Commissioners; one representative from the Eugene City Council; six citizen at-large members; and ex-officio members as appropriate.  One at-large position is reserved for a low-income representative. 

VACANCIES:  Housing Policy Board terms are for two years.  The HPB is currently seeking two at-large members.  The elected officials from Lane County and Eugene are charged with making appointments. 

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017 to the Board of Commissioners’ Office, 125 E. 8th Avenue, Eugene, OR 97401.
